Wetranstech has been researching voice collection and has many successful cases.
With the continuous development of global integration, there are more and more economic and trade exchanges between countries and regions. At the same time, the scope of individual activities is constantly moving from local to the world. However, language exchange has become a major obstacle to development. With the continuous development of computer technology and information technology, computers are developing rapidly as an intermediate tool to assist human communication. How to use new technologies to make communication from complex to simple, from abstract to popular has become a problem that people are concerned about. Speech Recognition is an important branch of pattern recognition technology. It uses speech signals as the research object to achieve the purpose of human-computer interaction. It mainly studies computer technology, signal processing, and pattern recognition linguistics.
Last month, we completed a voice collection project for 100 American children.
Project details:
Each age group, from 4 to 7 years old, has a different manuscript to be read.
(1) 4 year old children – Need 25 Childrens
Each child reads four stories
Save 1 wav file per story
So deliver 4 wav files per child
(2) 5 year old children – Need 25 Childrens
Each child reads two stories
Save 1 wav file per story
So deliver 2 wav files per child
(3) 6 year old child – Need 25 Childrens
Each child reads two stories
Save 1 wav file per story
So deliver 2 wav files per child
(4) 7 year old child – Need 25 Childrens
Each child reads one story
So save only 1 wav file
So deliver just 1 wav file per child
How to read and record the children voices- either methods<(1)or(2)> is acceptable:
(1) An adult stands beside the child and reads one sentence at a time as a model, and the child imitates the model to utter (read out) one by one. In this case, it is acceptable for the adult's voice to be included in the recording file, but the adult's voice must not overlap with the child's voice.
(2) Before recording, the child shall practice reading, and then the child start to read out to be recorded. In this case almost no adults voices included at all.
Concerning mistakes/misreading
(1) A few mispronunciations are OK.
(2) If the child speaker makes a big mistake or leave out a sentence, please record the sentence after all and save the sentence in a separate wav file and send it to us as a separate wav file.
Supplementary information
There are much more contents for 7 year old child, but if they can read easily, they will be finished within 10 minutes.
However if you have any difficulty with 7-year-olds, you may adopt 8-year-olds.
Project difficulties:
Since it is a recording project for children, it will be more challenging than adult recordings from some perspectives, because some children cannot read a full sentence aloud and will make some mistakes in the process of reading aloud. But under our continuous efforts, we still completed this project perfectly.
