How to ensure the translation quality of market research documents?
We often receive document translation requests from customers regarding market research. Generally, those who have these market research needs are well-known companies. Then, how to ensure the quality of translation is particularly important, because a small mistake may have a great negative impact on the brand, and even cause irreparable economic losses.
Over the past year, the language requirements for the survey documents we have processed range from English to Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Dutch, Turkish, Hungarian, Romanian, Polish, Slovenian, and Russian. , Korean, Thai, etc. The client industries involved include air transportation, energy, catering and food, medicine and health (including COVID-19), automobiles, machinery and motorization, and so on.
There are questionnaires for file types, and there are also open answers that are collected. In order to ensure the quality of translation, it is inevitable to choose a linguist whose target language is the native language. Secondly, these linguists must have knowledge of the market and the product or service field corresponding to the brand. In addition to the knowledge background, we also require the first round of translators to have at least 3-5 years of translation experience, and proofreaders have 5-8 years of translation experience. This is to ensure that the translation is professional and meets the needs of the target language market.
In addition to the translation itself, we also strictly control the pre-translation and post-translation processes. Our project manager will pre-process the files and carefully check the contents, format and field of the files to ensure that the most suitable linguist is arranged. After the translation is completed, the project manager will conduct QA to reconfirm the files format to ensure that it is consistent with the source files; in addition, check the translation contents to see if there are any errors or missing translations. Before delivering the documents to the customer, the account manager will also conduct a second QA, in case the project manager has any omissions.
In addition, if the source files provided by the customer are one-sided and incomplete, we will ask the customers to provide relevant background information so that linguists can better understand it for translation. Within one month of the delivery of the translation, if the client has any contents that need to be updated or modified, we will arrange resource verification as soon as possible. Satisfying the needs of our customers is our number one element.
